Joy reached out to us in February 2024, looking to boost her energy and develop her strength and fitness. Joy’s lack of energy was making it challenging for her to wake up in the morning, leaving her feeling sluggish at work and unable to make the most of her down time on the weekends.

As a busy school teacher, we looked to build some structure into her weeks to set about getting those energy levels back up – starting with incorporating some regular exercise into her routine and working through her nutrition.

We start all our clients with some one on one time with our coaches to make sure we get them moving well and comfortable with the movements in the gym, as part of these initial sessions, we also determine best times for each client to train during the week to give them routine and accountability. Joy dilligently applied herself, turning up consistently 3 times per week and quickly built her confidence.

Establishing the habit in the gym, we built on this by focusing on improving breakfast – using our recipe guides, we gave Joy a range of options to prepare in advance, meaning she had both grab n’ go or sit down options depending on the circumstances.

One of the biggest changes Joy reflected on initially was the improvements in her energy levels in the first few months – regular exercise was helping regulate her sleep patterns, in turn delivering a more consistent wake time in the mornings.

Our customised training allowed Joy to progress at her own pace, she could put her increased energy to good use in the gym, getting stronger and fitter, whilst performing better away from the gym and getting more out of her weekends.

As Joy built confidence and consistency in those habits, we worked on increasing the amount of meals that Joy prepared in advance each week – weekend cook ups giving her good choices each week to support her training and overall health – with plenty of inspo from our recipe guides.

Learning to build her meals to support her goals – Joy was able to take holidays, socialise with friends and also accept that things did not always need to be perfect to make progress. Consistency in the long run is the key.

Throughout the year, Joy celebrated the progress through her clothes fitting better, sessions feeling easier, and plenty of PBs in the gym! The confidence in the gym has let her chase heavier weights and push herself harder than she thought was possible.

The by-product of the consistency in her training 3x per week, preparing meals and being patient was a 10kg weight loss inside of 10 months. Looking back on my notes from our first meeting – “losing a bit of weight” was something mentioned in passing – 10kg is a great effort!

We look forward to helping Joy build on her progress so far, big things coming harnessing the super-power that is consistency.
